CALGARY, AB – Hockey Canada announced Friday that it has opened the bid process that will determine the
host cities for Hockey Canada events taking place during the 2008-09 season.
More than 82,000 fans attended Hockey Canada events in 2005/06, held from coast-to-coast from Sydney, NS
to Powell River, BC. As well, more than 600,000 people watched Hockey Canada events on TSN/RDS, the official
broadcaster of Hockey Canada.
Bid guidelines are currently available for the following Hockey Canada events:
2008 National Women’s Under-18 Championship
2008 World Junior A Challenge
2009 World Under-17 Challenge
2009 Esso Women’s Nationals
2009 TELUS Cup (regional rotation – 2009 Western: SHA, Hockey Manitoba, Hockey Northwestern Ontario)
