ATLANTIC NETS WIN OVER FINNS

REGINA — Atlantic will not go winless at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
Sunday, they claimed a 3-1 win over Finland, giving the East Coasters a 1-1-1 record in Pool B.
Atlantic looked like they may get a win early, taking a 2-0 lead over the Finns.
Brad Malone and Colin Escott put their second goals of the tournament behind Finnish goalie Harri Sateri
in the first period. Atlantic was 1-2 on its power-play chances.
Jaako Jaaskela tallied for Finland, cutting Atlantic’s lead to one. Nestori Lahde and Juho Maata assisted
late in the second period.
Matthew Brenton restored Atlantic’s two-goal advantage with less than four minutes left in the final
period.
Finland plays Germany in its final round-robin game of the Challenge Monday in Southey at 7 p.m. Atlantic
faces off with the Czech Republic in Moose Jaw at 7 p.m.
