ROCKLAND, Ont. – Hockey Canada announced Sunday the 22 players that will play for Canada’s National
Women’s Under-18 Team in a three-game series against the United States’ Women’s Under-18 Select Team next
week at the Canadian International Hockey Academy in Rockland.
The 13 forwards, seven defencemen and two goaltenders were chosen following the National Women’s Under-18
Team selection camp held fromAugust 7-14, also at the Canadian International Hockey Academy.

Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team, broken down by province:
Ontario – 10 (Ambrose, Bunton, Channell, Chuli, Connery, Kohler, Mercer, Richardson, Roesler, Stacey)
Manitoba – three (Brykalliuk, Dufault, Krzyzaniuk)
Alberta – two (Maschmeyer, Sowchuk)
British Columbia – two (Krause, McKinnon)
Saskatchewan – two (Clark, Woods)
Nova Scotia – one (Crossley)
Prince Edward Island – one (MacAulay)
Québec – one (Lemire)
Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team was assembled by Kalli Quinn, Hockey Canada’s director of female
national teams, Melody Davidson, Hockey Canada’s head scout of women’s national team programs, and her team
of scouts, along with under-18 head coach Pierre Alain (Mirabel, Que./St-Jérôme, Collégial AA), assistant
coaches Jim Fetter (Waterloo, Ont./Hockey Canada) and Carla MacLeod (Calgary, Alta./Mount Royal University,
ACAC), and goaltending coach Perry Wilson (LaSalle, Ont./University of Windsor,OUA).
“All 40 players who participated in Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team selection camp exemplify the
strength of the female game in this country and should be extremely proud of their accomplishments,” Alain
said. “We are confident the players chosen to take to the ice against the United States next week will
represent Canada with pride.”
The roster for Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team includes:
• one member of the team that won Canada’s first-ever gold medal at the 2010 IIHF World Women’s Under-18
Championship in Chicago, Ill. (Ambrose);
• six members of the team that took silver at the 2011 IIHF World Women’s Under-18 Championship in Stockholm,
Sweden (Ambrose, Dufault, Kohler, Mercer, Roesler and Stacey);
• one member of the Notre Dame Hounds, who won a gold medal at the 2011 Esso Cup, Canada’s National Female
Midget Championship, in St. Albert, Alta. (Woods)
Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team will play three games against the United States’ Women’s
Under-18 Select Team on Thursday, August 18 at 7 p.m. ET, Friday, August 19 at 7 p.m. ET and Saturday August
21 at 10 a.m. ET, at the Canadian International Hockey Academy in Rockland. Tickets are $5 each at the
door.
Following the series, Hockey Canada scouts, along with the team’s coaching staff, will continue to
evaluate players with their club teams during the 2011-12 season, in preparation for selecting the Canadian
team that will compete at the 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey Under-18 Women’s World Championship in the Czech Republic
in January.
Hockey Canada will also be holding several female development activities, including seminars for coaches and
officials, skills camps for players, as well intermission mini-games and Experience a Dream, which will give
young girls the chance to join under-18 players for off-ice and on-ice warm-ups during the Canada-United
