REGINA, Sask. – Hockey Canada announced a roster change at Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp on
Sunday.
Following a medical examination by Hockey Canada’s medical staff, defenceman Patrick Wiercioch (Maple
Ridge, B.C./University of Denver, WCHA) is being returned to his club team due to a pre-existing knee injury.
In his place, Hockey Canada, along with the Canadian Hockey League, announced the addition of Tyler Cuma
(Bowmanville, Ont./Ottawa, OHL) who will arrive in Regina in time to take in the first Red-White game on
Sunday, December 13 at 7 p.m. CT.
Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp runs through December 16 in Regina, Sask., with 35 players
vying for one of 22 roster spots for the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship. Both Red-White games on
December 13 and 14, as well as Canada’s game against a CIS team on December 15, are available at hockeycanada.fasthockey.com.
Canada will play its first game of the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship on Boxing Day, December 26
versus Latvia, a game that will be broadcast LIVE by TSN/RDS and on The FAN Radio Network (check local
listings).
Canada has medaled at eleven straight IIHF World Junior Championships including gold medal performances in
2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, silver medals in 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2004 and bronze medals in 2000 and
2001.
