CANADA SENDS JUNIOR A SELECT TEAM TO RUSSIA FOR 2006 GRAND PRIX TOURNAMENT

A selection of top Junior A hockey players will be representing Canada at the 2006 Grand Prix Tournament in St. Petersburg, Russia from April 4-9.

The roster was chosen by a committee put together by the Ontario Hockey Association, in conjunction with the CJAHL. All teams in the CJAHL were contacted across the country and names were brought forward to this committee who ultimately selected the team.

1939 AND 1961 TRAIL SMOKE EATERS HONOURED IN TRAIL, BC

During the past couple of years, Hockey Canada has taken on an initiative to recognize each of Canada’s past World Championship Teams. On Saturday, March 4, 2006, Hockey Canada will be honouring the 1939 and 1961 Trail Smoke Eaters World Championship Hockey Teams.  The ceremony will take place at the Trail Memorial Centre – Cominco Arena in Trail, BC at 7:30 pm (PT).  The team will be honoured with a banner raising ceremony, taking place during the second intermission, celebrating their 1939 and 1961 gold medal winning Men’s World Championship Teams
