HOCKEY CANADA BACKGROUND
A 2006 Olympic gold medallist, she has been with Canada’s National Women’s Team since the 1991-92 season,
taking part in three Winter Olympic Games (1998, 2002, 2006), nine World Championships (1992, 1994, 1997,
1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2007), nine Nations Cups (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006)
and the Torino Ice Tournament (2005) … Ranks second all-time with Canada’s National Women’s Team in games
(172), points (219), goals (114) and assists (105) … In 2006-07, helped Canada capture the 2006 4 Nations Cup
in Kitchener, ON and attended the team’s Evaluation Camp in January 2007 in Calgary, AB … Was Canada’s
flagbearer during the Opening Ceremonies of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games … Scored her 100th career
international goal on October 8, 2005 in a 6-0 victory over the USA … Named to Canada’s 2003 IIHF World
Women’s Championship roster, but the championship was subsequently cancelled … Canada’s top goal scorer (6)
at the 2000 IIHF World Women’s Hockey Championship … Was the overall leading goal scorer (8) and second
overall in points (14) at the 1998 Winter Olympic Games … Named to the 1995 Pacific Rim Championship All-Star
Team … Named the Top Forward at the 1994 National Women’s Hockey Championship ... Named to the 1994 WWHC
