CALGARY, AB – After some exciting play in regional championship action, the series Champions
will now travel to Gatineau to participate in the 2005 TELUS Cup, Canada’s National Midget
Championship. The 2005 TELUS Cup which will be held in Gatineau, April 18-24, marks the 27th year of
Canada’s National Midget Hockey Championship. Five regional Midget teams play down to qualify for the
National Midget Championship, with the Intrépide de Gatineau qualifying as the host team to form a six team
round robin tournament.
The teams representing their respective regions at the 2005 TELUS Cup are:
Host – Intrépide de Gatineau
Pacific – SSAC Edmonton
West – Saskatoon Contacts
Central – Don Mills Flyers
Quebec– Commandeurs de Lévis
Atlantic – Cole Harbour McCains

Both semi-final games and the Gold medal game will be broadcast on TSN/RDS, Hockey Canada’s
official broadcaster. The two semi-final games will be tape delayed and shown at 8:00 pm ET and 11:30pm
ET on Saturday, April 23 while the Gold medal game will be broadcast live beginning at 1:00 pm ET on Sunday,
April 24.

All games at the 2005 TELUS Cup will be played at the Robert-Guertin Centre in Gatineau,
QC. Ticket Packages for all 19 games of the tournament are still on sale and can be purchased for $40
(taxes included) by calling 1-819-595-7700. Fans can also purchase their ticket packages in person at the

Starting Monday April 18th, fans can purchase daily tickets in person at the Robert-Guertin
Centre box office. The daily ticket prices are:
- Adults - $9 / day (for three games including playoffs)
- Students - $4 / day (upon presentation of student card)
- Children (6 years old or younger) - free
Past players over the 27 year history of the National Midget Championship (formerly the Air
Canada Cup) have included 2004 World Cup of Hockey champions Simon Gagné (1998), Dany Heatley (1998) and Joe
Sakic (1986) , 2005 National Junior Team member, Sidney Crosby (2002), and notable NHL-ers such as Derek
Morris (1995), Daniel Brière (1994), Michael Peca (1990), Ron Francis (1980), Olaf Kolzig (1987), Scott
Mellanby (1983), Patrick Roy (1982) and Steve Yzerman (1980) and Al MacInnis (1979).
