eBay CANADA AUCTION FEATURED WITH GAME WORN ITEMS

CALGARY, AB – Hockey Canada launched the official website for Team Canada for the 2004 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship on Monday at www.hockeycanada.ca.

The 2004 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship runs December 26, 2003 – January 5, 2004 in Finland.

Hockey Canada’s "Authentics" program has teamed up with eBay Canada to offer Team Canada World Junior hockey fans across Canada and the World, the opportunity to bid on unique, game worn Team Canada jerseys, helmets and gloves from the 2004 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

Other features on www.hockeycanada.ca during the event include:
- email your favorite Team Canada player
- ‘real time’ statistics of all games, so people can login at anytime to get Team Canada results
- behind the scenes photos and action shots of all Team Canada games, including ‘photo of the day’
- exclusive Team Canada pre and post game reports
- daily poll questions and Team Canada profiles on players and staff
- on-line purchasing of the Team Canada media guide, team photo, as well as Team Canada merchandise

Items that will be posted and available for fans to bid on (beginning on December 28, 2003 and running for 10 days) at www.hockeycanada.ca include:

•Team Canada 2004 World Junior game worn, autographed gloves (20 skaters – 1 pair of game worn, autographed gloves per player) through 20 separate auctions (goaltender blocker/gloves are not available for auction)
• Team Canada 2004 World Junior game worn, autographed jerseys (all 22 players, including goal tenders) through 22 separate auctions
• Team Canada 2004 World Junior game worn, autographed helmets (20 skaters) through 20 separate auctions (goaltender helmets/masks are not available for auction)

All funds raised through the World Junior auction for Team Canada go to the Canadian Hockey Foundation (75%) and to the operations of Canada's National Junior Team (25%).

The Canadian Hockey Foundation works with Hockey Canada to create a promising future for our game and continue our winning tradition on the international stage. The Foundation provides secure, sustainable long term funding to help maintain Canada’s status as the world leader in hockey development and international competition.
