TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – DARTMOUTH ICE DAWGS
After four National Midget Championship appearances as the Subways, the Dartmouth Ice Dawgs continued the city’s winning Midget tradition in their first year with a new name, finishing 10 points clear of the Halifax Titans atop the NSMMHL. Led by Mark Tremaine, whose 52 points were good for second in the league, the Ice Dawgs led the league in scoring, racking up 153 goals in 35 games, and were the only team to allow less than 100 – their 85 goals against were 16 less than second-place Cole Harbour. The Ice Dawgs should be helped in the postseason by their ability to bounce back – they were 7-0 in games after a loss, outscoring the opposition 36-14 in those games.
