Canada's 2006 National Junior Team Roster Trimmed to 22 Players Stephenson Returned to Tri-City

KAMLOOPS, BC – Canada’s National Junior Team head coach Brent Sutter and Director of Player personnel Blair Mackasey announced on Friday morning that defenseman Logan Stephenson will be returning to his WHL team the Tri-City Americans. Stephenson re-joined Canada’s Junior Team after being released from the team, to assist the team’s preparation due to some injuries and some of the players being sick during the pre-competition phase of Canada’s preparation for the World Junior Championship. Stephenson was with Canada’s Junior team for six days after he was recalled on Sunday.

Canada’s National Junior Team will have an off day on Friday, December 23 as the team travels back to Vancouver, BC for its final days of preparation prior to its opener of the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship on December 26th.

Canada will take to the ice and practice at 11:00am-12:15pm (PT) on both Saturday, December 24 and Sunday, December 25 at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver.

Canada's first game of the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship will be on Monday, December 26th at 4pm PT / 7pm ET versus Finland.  TSN and RDS, the official broadcasters of Hockey Canada, will again carry all of Canada's games LIVE from the World Junior Championship and will be the host broadcast of the event. All of Canada’s games will also be on radio via the FAN radio network (check local listings).
