RICHMOND, B.C. -- Nancy Drolet scored twice and drew an assist and Kari Colpitts also scored twice for Team Quebec as they drubbed the host Britannia Blues 10-1 to earn a second straight victory at the Esso Women's Nationals on Friday.

Quebec, which has won the last three Esso Women's titles, defeated New Brunswick 2-1 on Thursday night in their tournament opener. In other morning games on Friday, the PEI Esso Tigers scored four straight third-period goals in a span of two minutes 10 seconds to overcome a 5-1 deficit and earn a 5-5 draw against Saskatchewan, while New Brunswick shut out Manitoba 5-0.

National team veteran France St. Louis, Stephanie Grenon, Genevieve Nadeau and Tammy Shewchuck also scored for Quebec, while Sandra Laurie scored the lone goal for the host club. Shewchuck had two assists in the game, during which Quebec outshot B.C. 58-20.

Brenda Benson, meanwhile, keyed P.E.I.'s comeback against Saskatchewan. The Esso Tigers, shook off the effects of a 14-0 wipeout against Ontario on Thursday night to forge the tie. Sara Howald scored her second goal for Saskatchewan at 12:07 of the third period, giving Saskatchewan a 5-1 lead.

But Benson started the P.E.I. uprising just 41 seconds later. Then, in rapid succession, Dawna Donaldson on a Benson setup, Benson again, and Yolande Richard, with her second of the game, scored to tie the game. Stacey Keyowski, Kim Cudmore and Joanna Mould scored the other goals for Saskatchewan.

Five different players scored for New Brunswick in their 5-0 victory -- Kathy McCormick, Paulette Cormier, Sherry Harris-Murray, Jennifer Reicker and Jennifer Schuler.

The round-robin portion of the four-day, eight-team national championship concludes today, with the playoff round going on Saturday and the gold-medal game on Sunday. That game will be telecast live on TSN and RDS, its Montreal-based sister station, beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern time.
