RED DEER – Hockey Alberta has announced that Rob Litwinski has accepted the position of General Manager. Litwinski rejoins Hockey Alberta after seven years with Hockey Canada as both the Manager of Regulations in the Ottawa office and the Senior Manager Events in the Calgary office.  Prior to that Litwinski served as Manager of Hockey Operations with Hockey Alberta for four years.

Terry Engen, Hockey Alberta’s President, is pleased to welcome Litwinski back to the organization. Said Engen, “We are extremely happy to have Rob back at Hockey Alberta.  He brings with him a wealth of knowledge not only on the operations side but in the hockey industry as a whole.  We are excited by his vision and leadership for the organization. The Board of Directors is thrilled to welcome Rob, his wife Marie and their two children Brooke and Cameron to Red Deer.”

Originally from St. Paul, Alberta, Litwinski is a graduate of the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation. He is excited at the chance to return to Hockey Alberta. Said Litwinski, “This is certainly a terrific opportunity to come back to an organization with such a proud history. Hockey Alberta is a wonderful organization that strives to be progressive and innovative and I am honored to have the chance to be part of its future.”

Litwinski takes the reins in early September from retiring General Manager Gary Mills who has been at the helm of the organization for the past two years. Engen also commented on Mills’ service to the organization, “On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gary for his dedication and service and wish him and his wife Dale all the best in their retirement years,” said Engen.
