6-4 WIN OVER RUSSIA CLINCHES THIRD PLACE FOR CANADA
Canada evened its record at 2-2-0, earning a second straight third place finish at the Sweden Hockey Games. Russia's loss dropped them to last place in the five team tournament. Host team, Sweden, won the tournament with a record of 3-1-0 followed by Finland, Canada, the Czech Republic and Russia respectively.
The Canadian Men's National Team looks to improve on last year's third place finish going into Stockholm, Sweden for the 2001 Sweden Hockey Games, which run February 6th through 11th, 2001.
This year's Sweden Games entry is comprised mainly of Canadian players who are currently playing professionally in Europe.
The group includes such names as Michael Peca, Pat Falloon, Rico Fata, Lonny Bohonos and Dwayne Roloson among others.
The tournament is one of the bigger international events in the hockey season and this year features teams from Russia, Finland, the Czech Republic and Sweden.
