TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – REGINA REBELS
The Regina Rebels rolled off 14 straight wins to close out their 2013-14 campaign and run away with the SFMAAAHL regular season title. The Rebels finished 16 points clear of the Weyburn Gold Wings, who had a season-ending eight-game win streak of their own. The league’s No. 1-ranked offence scored 131 goals, 52 more than the Prince Albert Bears. Chelsea Perepeluk and Emma Waldenberger led the attack, both averaging two points a game and finishing one-two in the league scoring race. Three other Rebels – Delaney Frey, Marlee Clarkson and Jylelle Carpenter-Boesch – averaged at least a point a game and found themselves among the top 10 point-getters for the season. Goalies Summer Roberts (13 wins) and Tatum Shand (12 wins) backstopped the league’s No. 2 defence. The team suffered only two regulation losses – and three overall – in a season where it never allowed more than three goals in a game.
