Memories of Stoney Creek
“I was fortunate right off the bat that [head coach] Diane Boles really had confidence in my play and believed in me. She gave me opportunities in big situations and put me in roles that would help me excel.  From Day 1 I was put in situations where I was going to learn. She gave me those chances to develop and become a better player in every aspect of the game. She helped me, too, to become a well-rounded player. Going in I was known more as an offensive defenceman, but she really helped me focus more on my defensive game in order to help me get to where I needed to be to play at the national level.

“I don’t know how many times we had what Diane liked to call ‘out-of-dressing-room experiences.’ She put so much emphasis on balancing both life and hockey and school, and she really helped me with time management and how to be a great student just as much as a great hockey player. Stoney Creek, in general, that whole organization really helped me become a full-rounded student-athlete.”
