With slightly less than three months to go before Dauphin hosts the 2010 RBC Cup, organizers indicate that sponsorship activity continues to be brisk. Randy Daley, co-chair of the RBC Cup host committee, recently reported that the efforts of the marketing and sponsorship sub-committee have been stellar, with the committee having reached or exceeded their preliminary goals in both cash and value-in-kind (VIK) sponsorships.

“Dauphin is very well known as a great host community,” says Daley. “We’ve got a good track record of stepping up to the plate when it counts the most and the local business community has come up big when our committee came knocking on their doors”.

Organizers are pleased with the positive support so far from regional and provincial level sponsors – with particularly significant contributions from several large Manitoba-based crown corporations.

Wayne Heide, marketing and promotions committee co-chair, echoes those sentiments and adds that the support has been somewhat overwhelming.

“There are several other major fund raising efforts going on in Dauphin at this particular time and we weren’t sure what type of response we might receive when approaching businesses. It didn’t take long to find out, as the committee quickly reached its target – while attempting to identify additional sponsorship opportunities,” Heide says.

He says that the committee has been very fortunate to have the support of Dauphin’s Countryfest, who jumped on board early as a major sponsor.

“Countryfest has a very successful reputation and tremendous brand recognition. We were able to leverage their support to get others interested in our event – and the momentum continues to build. We are currently negotiating with several crown corporations, and their input and support has been instrumental in getting us to our target – and beyond”.

Additional information about sponsorships and sponsorship packages can still be obtained by calling the 2010 RBC Cup Office.
