TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – EASTMAN SELECTS

No team had a more dominant 2015-16 season in the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League than the Eastman Selects, who finished with only a single regulation loss in 44 games played - their last game. Eastman’s 92 goals against were the second-best mark in the league after the Winnipeg Wild’s 83, but its league-leading 230 goals for were 21 more than any other team and included an impressive 17 games in which the team scored six goals or more. The Selects opened the season with a 12-game win streak; after taking its first loss, in a shootout, on Oct. 31, the team went on another win streak, one that lasted 14 games through mid-December. The Selects high- powered offence was led by the MMAAAHL’s top scorer, Brad Goethals, whose 41 goals – including 12 on the power play – and 74 points were all league bests.
