TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – PICTOU COUNTY CRUSHERS Few teams in the country scored goals like the Pictou County Crushers, who rode a red-hot offence to the top of the MHL for the first time since the franchise relocated from Halifax in 2004. The Crushers averaged more than five goals per game, netting 265 in 50 games, and featured the top two scorers in the MHL – Michael Dill (32-58—90) and Alexis Roy (37-52—89). Pictou County made its statement early in the season, earning points in 12 of its first 13 games, and went 8-1 in its final nine to stay six points clear of the second-place Miramichi Timberwolves. As good as their offence was, the Crushers weren’t too shabby at the other end of the rink; their defence co-led the MHL in goals against, giving up 145. Daniel Vautour went 26-7 with a 2.90 goals-against average, good for fifth in the league, while Luke Melanson was one spot higher with a 2.85 GAA in 17 appearances.
