TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – TORONTO YOUNG NATIONALS
After a season away, the Toronto Young Nationals are right back on top of the GTHL. The 2015 TELUS Cup champions topped the regular season standings for the fourth time in five seasons, dropping just two of 33 games to finishing a comfortable 15 points up on the second-place Toronto Jr. Canadiens. The Young Nationals dropped their season opener to the Toronto Marlboros before embarking on a seven-game unbeaten streak, and they enter the playoffs without a loss in their last 24 games, dating back to Oct. 29. Toronto had the No. 2 offence in the GTHL, scoring 3.39 goals per game, and their defence was lights out, giving up just 1.18 goals per contest; the Young Nationals allowed one goal or less in 23 of their 33 games.
