Canada Finishes First in Group F and Advances to Quarter-Finals Against Russia on Thursday, May 12 at 2011 IIHF World Championship

KOSICE, Slovakia – Canada’s National Men’s Team has won Group F in preliminary action and has advanced to the quarter-finals at the 2011 IIHF World Championship. Canada will take on Russia on Thursday, May 12 in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Canada finished first in Group F, with 13 points, after a 3-2 win Monday evening against Sweden, while Russia finished fourth in Group E. The winner of the Canada-Russia quarter-final will advance to face the winner of the Finland-Norway quarter-final, which will also take place on May 12.
