Thirty-One Games to Be Webcast Live From 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship

EDMONTON, Alta. – For the first time, Hockey Canada and FASTHockey will be streaming 31 games from the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship live via webcast for fans who are outside the broadcast area.

Games will be blacked out when broadcast locally as fans can watch through their local broadcasters in Canada (TSN), Finland (MTV3/Canal+), Russia (NTV PLUS), Sweden (Visasat) and the United States (NHL Network).

Check your local listings for finalized broadcast schedules.

“We want to bring the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship to as many hockey fans worldwide as possible, and this partnership with FASTHockey will do just that,” said Al Coates, executive director of the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Canada will play its first game of the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship on Boxing Day, Dec. 26 against Finland, a game that will be broadcast LIVE by TSN/RDS and on The FAN Radio Network (check local listings). While the event is officially sold out, tickets are available through a ticket exchange program at www.HockeyCanada.ca/2012juniors

Canada has medalled at 13 consecutive IIHF World Junior Championships, including gold medal performances in 2005, 2006, 2007, 20, silver medals in 1999, 2002, 2003, 2004, 20 and bronze medals in 20.
