Hockey Canada, ebay.ca to Offer Signed Items From Team Canada Player/Family Lounge

VANCOUVER, B.C. – Hockey Canada and ebay.ca have launched a special 2010 Olympic Winter Games auction, featuring items from the Hockey Canada player/family lounge. All auctions are 10 days in length.

Among the items up for auction are:

• large photos of Canada’s 2002 gold medal-winning Men’s Olympic Team and 2006 gold medal-winning Women’s Olympic Team, both of which are signed by members of each team

• Hockey Canada mini fridges signed by members of Canada’s 2010 men’s and women’s Olympic teams

• an oversized Hockey Canada goalie mask signed by members of Canada’s 2010 men’s and women’s Olympic teams

• individual player banners signed by each player on Canada’s 2010 men’s and women’s Olympic teams

• various photos that were displayed on the walls of the player/family lounge and of the Hockey Canada President’s Lounge, signed by the likes of Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier and Danielle Goyette (please note that some photos may not be signed)

Among the Men’s Olympic Team players who have signed these items are Sidney Crosby, Roberto Luongo, Jarome Iginla, Dany Heatley and captain Scott Niedermayer. Women’s Olympic Team players include Meghan Agosta, Jayna Hefford, Shannon Szabados, Marie-Philip Poulin and captain Hayley Wickenheiser.

All net proceeds raised through the auction will go to support Hockey Canada, to assist with the funding of national development programs, national teams and Hockey Canada initiatives that promote the sport at the grassroots level.
