New Ticket Packages Unveiled for 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship

The SASKATOON, Sask. – The Saskatoon host organizing committee of the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship has unveiled several new ticket packages for fans of the IIHF World Junior Championship, which is being held in Saskatoon from to.

Beginning Thursday, October 8, World Junior fans will be able to choose from two new round-robin ticket packages each featuring five world-class games as well as a new 11-game relegation and medal round ticket package.

“After a very successful campaign to sell full event packages the entire lower bowl of Credit Union Centre is sold out and a big chunk of the upper bowl, including the new seats, is also sold,” says Rob Jones, general manager of the host organizing committee. “We are at over 8,800 full packages sold. I can’t stress enough for fans to move now on these new packages because they are going to sell quickly.”

“With less than 90 days before the opening games at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship, we are on target as far as our overall business plan,” says Scott Smith, Hockey Canada’s COO.  “The introduction of these new ticket packages in both markets will help to get us over the top and create a great atmosphere for the players participating in the championship. Hockey fans now have more affordable and flexible options in which to be part of the World Junior experience and we expect these packages to move quickly.”

The new five-game ticket packs for the round robin portion of the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship at Saskatoon’s Credit Union Centre start at $199.00 plus applicable fees and feature the following games:

Pack A - Saskatoon

December 27 United States vs. Switzerland

December 29 Latvia vs. United States

December 30 Switzerland vs. Latvia

December 31 Switzerland vs. Slovakia

December 31 United States vs. Canada

Pack B - Saskatoon 

December 26 Latvia vs. Canada

December 26 Slovakia vs. United States

December 27 Slovakia vs. Latvia

December 28 Canada vs. Switzerland

December29 Canada vs. Slovakia

As well, separate ticket prices for the medal and relegation round package at the Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon are also now available. The package, starting at $499, consists of 11 games starting January 2, ending with the gold medal game on January 5.

Meanwhile, two new six-game packs, starting at $125 and applicable fees, have been introduced in Regina for the 12 games to be played at the Brandt Centre. The packs feature the following games:
