HARBIN, CHINA – Team Canada will continue its quest for gold on Wednesday when it takes to the ice against Finland at Baqu Arena.

Finland shocked the women’s hockey world on Tuesday when it defeated Team USA 1-0 in overtime. Canada, Finland and USA are in the qualifying round, with the top two teams after round-robin play moving on to Saturday’s gold medal game.

Finland leads the qualifying round with two points for its overtime win, followed by USA at one point. Canada has yet to play a game in this round, after having defeated Russia 8-1 and China 11-0.

Canada is attempting to win its second-straight gold medal at the IIHF World Women’s Championship and 10th all-time.

Team Canada practised on Tuesday before players and staff went sightseeing in Harbin. The team took pictures at a statue of Mao Zedong and did a bit of shopping at Centre Street, one of the largest pedestrian-only streets in the world.

Then, players got a taste of home when they went out for a pizza dinner.
