NAPANEE, ON – Team Ontario Red has once again won the National Women’s Under-18 Championship.

Ontario Red, winner of the past four events, beat Quebec 2-1 in double overtime on Sunday at the Strathcona Paper Centre. Brianne Jenner (Oakville, ON/Mississauga Chiefs, PWHL) scored 1:07 into the second overtime period with a snap shot that beat Quebec’s Roxanne Douville (Beloeil, QC/Lynx d’Edouard-Montpetit).

Ontario Red’s Casandra Langan (Chatham, ON/London Devilettes) opened the scoring at 14:09 of the first period. It wasn’t until the 12-minute mark of the third that Quebec’s Marie-Philip Poulin (Beauceville, QC/Blues de Dawson) tied up the game at 1-1.

The game was watched by more than 1,800 fans in Napanee, along with a national TV audience on TSN. For the week, more than 12,500 fans attended the 18 games at the 2008 National Women’s Under-18 Championship.
