Hockey Canada – the country’s National Sport Organization (NSO) is interested in seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from qualified organizations to provide seamless e-commerce vending services for Team Canada licensed merchandise and related activities through its well-established web-site.
Four key objectives exist within the context of providing an e-commerce solution for licensed product:
1. To form a partnership with an e-commerce vendor that will maximize the numerous opportunities to provide event-specific and team licensed merchandise sales to fans, participants and individuals in Canada and around the globe.
2. To facilitate a level of customer service for Hockey Canada, its fans and supporters, business partners and associated events through an e-commerce platform offering extra-ordinary service while maintaining a superior level of brand exposure.
3. Integrate a seamless service to support a secure internet protocol that meshes with Hockey Canada’s web-site design, offering quick-response flexibility, scalability, superior graphics, ease of navigation, etc. all designed to synchronize with the current page design.
4. To maximize revenue generation and brand integrity supporting events and activities hosted by Hockey Canada.
The e-commerce vendor shall become an integral partner in the successful staging of each individual event or activity throughout the course of the hockey season. The vendor shall offer and provide appropriate e-commerce merchandise offerings for regular day-to-day sales and event-appropriate offerings to support international events, national championships, programming activities, tournaments, etc.
The e-commerce vendor shall participate in a variety of activities to include, but is not limited to:
Annual merchandising strategy planning
Monthly operations review
Individual event merchandise mix planning
Monthly and event reporting/reconciliation
Other activities as identified by Hockey Canada
Interested parties are invited to submit a concise business plan outlining the steps and processes necessary to achieve a high level of consumer/fan experience while executing an efficient model of e-commerce retailing that contributes to the legacy of the events and activities hosted by Hockey Canada.
The business plan shall include, but is not limited to these key categories:
E-commerce Merchandise Product Strategy
Marketing program and support for site
E-commerce vending management and/or experience
Non-disclosure and Vendor Agreements
All parties selected by Hockey Canada to participate in the proposal stage of the EOI, shall fully execute a standard non-disclosure agreement fully binding all parties to the express confidentiality of all material contained in therein.
Commercial Credit Reference Review
All proposals accepted by Hockey Canada shall be subject to a commercial credit reference check through an accredited agency such as Equifax or similar commercial financial service.
EOI proposals shall be forwarded in electronic copy format only. Acceptable formats include Microsoft Office Word, Power Point or Adobe (pdf) format to the aforementioned.
The closing date for proposal is July 7th, 2008 at 17:00 hrs ET. Any EOI proposals received after the closing date will not be accepted.
Hockey Canada reserves the right to request additional information from any one or all of the organizations submitting an EOI proposal in the event further detail or reference material is required to assist in making a qualified assessment.
All materials submitted to Hockey Canada in response to the EOI request shall become the property of Hockey Canada, and as such these proposals and any supporting materials shall not be returned.
