Attention All Minor Hockey Association Presidents
It is now time to recognize a volunteer Safety Person who has made an outstanding contribution to amateur hockey within your community. The Hockey Canada Safety Program Recognition Award is presented to a volunteer in recognition for their outstanding contributions to amateur hockey in Canada as a Safety Person. The award recognizes the vital role the Safety Person serves in enhancing the safety and well being of all hockey participants while instilling the values of safety, fair play and integrity.
The award packages include:
• One recognition award certificate, signed by Hockey Canada President, Bob Nicholson and featuring areas for
the name of the recipient, your Minor Hockey Association and your signature.
• One set of criteria to assist your association in selecting an individual who deserves this award.
• One press release, which you can complete and forward to your local community newspaper.
• One questionnaire that we ask your association to complete and return to the address show.
The awards are being distributed to all associations for you to recognise one volunteer safety person for their dedication and effort. If you have not yet received your Hockey Canada Safety Program Recognition Award packages please contact your Branch office.
**Please note that if you live in Ontario, the Hockey Development Centre for Ontario (HDCO) has the Trainer’s Recognition Award to be presented to an individual in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the ideals of safety, enjoyment, fair play, sportsmanship, education and honesty in the game of hockey.
