CALGARY, AB – Hockey Canada, in partnership with the Shuswap Recreation Society, is pleased to announce ticket information for the 2007 Esso National Women’s Hockey Championship, to be held in Salmon Arm, British Columbia from March 5 .

The Esso Women’s Nationals are the pinnacle of female hockey in Canada, with such past and future Olympians as Hayley Wickenheiser, Vicky Sunohara and Cassie Campbell taking part in the event.

This will be the third time B.C. has hosted the national women’s championship, the first since Richmond hosted the 1997 event.

“This premier women’s event will have a great impact on the community of Salmon Arm and the Shuswap area,” said host committee chair Dale Berger. “Paramount to our success is the support of our volunteers and the corporate citizenship of our business community. Twin Anchor Houseboats has complimented our efforts as the ‘anchor’ of this support.”

"Esso has been closely involved in supporting the growth and development of women's hockey through programs such as the Esso Fun Days and Esso Medals and Certificates of Achievement program, but more importantly through support of the Esso Women's National Hockey Championship that provides a forum for elite level competition," said Karen Fraser, Marketing Sponsorship Manager for Esso. "It is events such as the Esso Women's Nationals that provide the training ground to produce international champions and at Esso, we're proud to have played a part in the tremendous growth and success of women's hockey in Canada".
