2006 RBC Royal Bank Cup Semi-Final Action Begins Saturday

Brampton, ON – The final four teams that will face-off in Saturday’s semi-finals have been determined following Thursday night’s game at the Powerade centre in Brampton, ON. The host Streetsville Derbys will confront the Yorkton Terriers and FWFN Northstars will face Burnaby Express. Both games will be held at the Powerade centre in Brampton, ON on Saturday .

YORKTON TERRIERS (West) vs STREETSVILLE DERBYS (Host)

Prior to Thursday night, both the Burnaby Express and the Streetsville Derbys had already clinched the number one and two seeds in the round robin. On Thursday, Fort William defeated the Yorkton Terriers, 2-1 and the Burnaby Express defeated Joliette Action. The win assured Fort William of a semi-final berth while the Burnaby win eliminated Joliette.

The gold medal game will be played on Sunday, , and will be broadcast on TSN/RDS, the official broadcaster of Hockey Canada.

Notable alumni who have played in previous RBC Royal Bank Cups (Centennial Cups) include Rod Brind’Amour (Carolina Hurricanes), Scott Gomez (New Jersey Devils), Greg Johnson (Nashville Predators), and Curtis Joseph (Phoenix Coyotes).
