CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI – The 2006 TELUS Cup, Canada’s 29th National Midget Championship held its Awards Banquet on Friday in Charlottetown, PEI where the Championship Directorate announced all individual award winners for the 2006 TELUS Cup.

The 2006 TELUS Cup, Canada’s National Midget Hockey Championship Winner:

TELUS Most Valuable Player- Mike Connolly – Calgary Buffaloes (Pacific)

Most SportsmanlikeJordan Eberle – Calgary Buffaloes (Pacific)

Top GoaltenderAlan Reynolds – Toronto Junior Canadiens (Central)

Top DefencemanChris Markiewicz - Calgary Buffaloes (Pacific)

Top ForwardMatthew Robertson – Prince Albert Mintos (West)

Top ScorerMike Connolly – Calgary Buffaloes (Pacific)

Esso ScholarshipMark Lyons – Calgary Buffaloes (Pacific)

After an incredible week of round robin action, the semi-finals are set and will takes place on Saturday, April 28 at the Charlottetown Civic Centre. As the number one seed Prince Albert Mintos (West) take on the number four seed, Patriotes de Châteauguay (Quebec) at 2:00 pm AT/1:00 pm ET. In the second semi-final game, the number two seed, Toronto Junior Canadiens (Central) will battle the number three seed, the Calgary Buffaloes (Pacific) at 7:30 pm AT/6:30 pm ET.

The Gold medal game will take place on Sunday, April 30th at 12:00 pm AT/11:00 pm ET and will be broadcast live on TSN/RDS, Hockey Canada’s official broadcaster.
