Vancouver, BC - The Organizing Committee for the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship today announced an official ‘sell-out’ for all games to be hosted in Vancouver, BC at the Pacific Coliseum and General Motors Place.

“Our mission is to have a spectacular celebration of the world’s best amateur hockey players,” said tournament Chair, Ron Toigo. “Having full buildings will prove to everyone that Canada has the greatest hockey fans in the world.”

Tickets for the tournament went on sale to season ticket holders of the Vancouver Canucks, Vancouver Giants, Kamloops Blazers and Kelowna Rockets last summer. The general public were offered the opportunity to purchase packages on .

There are limited ticket packages still available for the Kamloops and Kelowna tournament games.

“We anticipate being completing sold out in Kamloops and Kelowna by the start of summer,” said tournament General Manager, Stuart Ballantyne. “Interior residents interested in seeing world-class hockey in Kamloops and Kelowna should act very quickly.”

In April, Hockey Canada announced that Team Canada would play exhibition games in Kamloops and Kelowna. These Team Canada games have been added to the Kamloops and Kelowna ticket packages for an additional $20.

“We’re very pleased that our ticket campaign has been successful and that we can now turn our attention to other aspects of making the tournament spectacular,” added Ballantyne. “We have many more exciting announcements coming that will showcase BC’s pride and community spirit and create a great celebration of hockey.”
