(MONTREAL, QC.) In celebration of Hockey Canada Week (November 7th to 14th, 2004), ITECH and Hockey Canada, alongside new contestco-sponsor Crayola Canada, are inviting children from all across Canada to design an original patriotic mask that will be worn by Team Canada’s goalies at the 2005 World Junior Championship in North Dakota and Minnesota from December 25th, 2004 to January 4th, 2005.

Based on the tremendous success of last year’s contest, which saw Tanner Klassen’s winning “Loonie” design worn by Team Canada goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, this season’s contest will now feature two winners.  One winner will be chosen from each of the contest’s two newly created age categories (12 and older, 11 and under).  Apart from the thrill of having Team Canada’s goalies wearing their designs, the winners will also receive their very own duplicate, custom-painted ITECH goalie mask, which will be autographed by members of the Canadian National Junior Team.  Eight runner-ups will also be selected to receive special prize packages.

Participants must be Canadian residents, 18 years old or younger.  All entries must reflect Canadian themes and include the Hockey Canada logo.  To become eligible, participants must visit hockeycanada.ca or itech.com to download the contest-specific mask template.  All completed templates must then be mailed back to ITECH’s head office where a panel of appointed officials will choose the finalists. Mask design entries will be accepted from now until November 15th, 2004.  Winners will be contacted and announced in early December.

Hockey Canada is the sole governing body for amateur hockey in Canada, including overseeing the national development programs for minor hockey coaches, officials and players across the country, as well as the operation of Canada’s men’s and women’s national teams and national and international hockey events held in Canada.

Mission-ITECH Hockey was created in May of 2004 following the merger of Mission Hockey and I-TECH Sport Products Inc.  Mission’s strength in skates, sticks, gloves and pants evolves from its dominance of the roller hockey market, while ITECH's 20+ years of experience in head and facial product innovation accounts for its leadership position in the ice hockey industry today. Mission-ITECH Hockey is an official sponsor of Hockey Canada.
