Canada's National Under 18 Team Ties Final Exhibition Game 2-2 Against The Czech Republic Before Four Nations Tournament in Slovakia
CALGARY, AB - Canada's National Under 18 Team tied the Czech Republic Under 18 Team 2-2, in Havlichuv Brod on Wednesday, August 16th, in their final exhibition game before taking part in the Four Nations Tournament in Kezmarok, Slovakia, the Canadian Hockey Association released today.
Canada's Jordin Tootoo, of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, put his side ahead 2-1 in the second period, with a power play goal. But the Czech Republic responded with their own power play goal in the third period, as Jiri Novotny beat Dan Blackburn, of Camrose, AB.
Ryan Hollweg, of Langley, BC scored Canada's other goal, while Martin Juza knotched the Czech Republic's first goal.
Canada's National Under 18 Team leaves for Slovakia on August 17th, and open the tournament against the host team from Slovakia, in Kezmarok. On Saturday, August 18th, Canada faces the Czech Republic before closing out the tournament on Sunday, August 19th, against the USA.
