CZECH REPUBLIC-- Canada's Men's National Hockey Team played two exhibition games against the Czech Republic, tieing 3-3 and losing 3-1, as both teams prepare for the Baltic Cup (formally the Isvestia Cup) which starts Tuesday in Moscow, Russia.

On Sunday, Canada's Ashley Buckberger of Esterhazy, SK scored two goals, and Doug Lidster, former NHLer and currently player-assistant coach for Canada's National Team, had two assists as Canada tied the Czech Republic 3-3.

On Friday, the Czechs came out strong with two power play goals in the first 10 minutes of the game. Canada's Geoff Peters of St. Catharines, ON scored the only goal for Canada at 19:02 of the second period, with Jeremy Adduono of Thunder Bay, ON getting the lone assist. The Czechs scored one last goal in the third period, making the final score 3-1.

Troy Stonier of Ottawa, ON had to leave the game on Sunday after suffering a broken leg, and will be sent home to Canada on Monday. Adduno suffered a mild concussion in Sunday's game, and is listed as day-to-day, but should be ready for the start of the Baltic Cup.

Both games were played in front sold-out crowds of over 7,000 fans, with the fans arriving two hours prior to game time to cheer their country on.

Canada has added Yves Racine and Martin Bergeron to their roster in preparation for the Baltic Cup and to replace Stonier and possibly Adduono in the line-up. Racine is currently playing in Europe with Jokerit (Finland), while Bergeron is playing in Oulu (Finland).

Canada's first game in the Baltic Cup will be on Dec. 15 against host country, Russia, and then Canada will take on Sweden on Dec. 16, and the Czechs on Dec. 18.
