VALKEALA, Finland -- Jayna Hefford of Kingston, ON and Geraldine Heaney of Weston, ON each scored twice to pace Canada's Women's Olympic Hockey Team to a 5-2 victory over the Finnish Women's National team in a three-country tournament game on Friday.

Karen Nystrom of Scarborough, ON scored the other goal for Canada, which won its second straight game in the double round-robin tournament. On Thursday, Canada defeated Sweden 5-3. The victories improved Team Canada's pre-Olympic won-lost record to 10-2 as the team prepares for the first-ever women's ice hockey tournament at the Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan in February 1998.

Hefford opened the scoring at 7:25 of the first period and gave Canada a 2-1 second-period lead with a power-play goal at 6:08, but the teams were tied 2-2 after 40 minutes. Tiia Reima and Sari Fisk were the goal scorers for Finland.

Heaney, with her two goals, including the game winner at 4:22 of the final period, and Nystrom, who also assisted on Heaney's second goal, provided the three-goal margin in the third period on Friday. Lesley Reddon of Fredericton, NB, faced 20 shots in goal for Canada, while Liisa-Maria Sneck stopped 25 of the 30 shots she faced in goal for the Finns.

Canada will play Sweden again on Monday and the Finns on Tuesday to wind up round-robin play. The top two teams following the round-robin will face-off in the tournament final on Thursday. Canada is 2-0 so far, Finland is 1-1 and Sweden is 0-2.
