RICHMOND, B.C. -- Team Quebec, gunning for its fourth straight title, will meet the Edmonton Chimos on Sunday in the gold-medal final game at the Esso Women's Nationals hockey championship.

Quebec advanced by beating Ontario's North York Aeros 3-1 in one semifinal, while the Edmonton Chimos beat the Maritime Sports Blades of New Brunswick 5-2 in the other. The final game will be telecast live on The Sports Network (TSN), beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern time.

The Chimos also will be attempting to win their fourth title in the 16-year history of the event, but a victory for the Alberta team would be their first since 1992. The Aeros won the Canadian championship in 1993 and Team Quebec has dominated the event since.

Three-time Women's World champion Judy Diduck scored two goals, including the gamewinner for the Chimos, who also got two goals from Jane Robinson and a single from Hayley Wickenheiser. Kathy McCormick and Stephanie Parent replied for New Brunswick.

National team veteran France St. Louis, who like Diduck, has three world championship gold medals to her credit, scored twice for Quebec over Ontario, while Tammy Shewchuck added a single. Vicky Sunohara replied for the Aeros.

Both the Chimos and Team Quebec went through the three-game round-robin undefeated. Edmonton posted victories over Saskatchewan (5-4), Ontario (1-0) and the P.E.I. Esso Tigers (9-1). Quebec won their round-robin group, as well, posting a 2-1 victory over New Brunswick, a 10-1 win over B.C. and a 4-0 decision over Manitoba.

New Brunswick posted an 8-0 victory over Saskatchewan on Saturday to earn the right to play Alberta in one semifinal. Kathy McCormick scored three goals in that rout, while Jennifer Schuler had two and Stacey Wilson, Paulette Cormier and Nora Ringuette had singles.

The Aeros moved into the other semifinal against Quebec by hammering the host club, the Britannia Blues, 8-0. Stephanie Kay scored two goals for the Aeros in that one, with singles going to Cindy Cryderman, Geraldine Heaney, Amy Turek, Margot Page, Vicky Sunohara and Marianne Grnak.

In a game to determine seventh and eighth place on Saturday, Manitoba defeated P.E.I. 5-4.
