2004 National U18 Club Championship

WEST 5 - PACIFIC 6

April 19, 2004
Kenora, ON

The 2004 National Midget tournament started with an extremely exciting game. With Brandon opening the scoring, the two teams exchanged goals in the first, ending a great opening period tied at 2-2. Red Deer's AJ Nelson scored a short handed goal while the Chiefs were down two men. However, Brandon rebounded with two quick power-play goals to tie things up at 4-4. The teams exchanged goals and took a 5-5 tie into overtime. Although Brandon killed off a penalty in the extra frame, Red Deer was able to convert when captain Robert Forshner scored with just over two minutes remaining in overtime. Brandon goalie Tyler Plante made 44 saves in the loss, while counterpart Rick Andreychuk had 20 saves in the win for Red Deer.Game #2
