Hockey Canada’s Skills Development Camps were developed to provide players with an opportunity to enhance their fundamental skills in a positive, learning environment. The primary focus of these camps is centered on on-ice fundamental skills, with time scheduled for life skill enhancement in areas such as respect, fitness and teamwork

Important Note: Participants who register over the internet, and indicate that they are paying by cheque or money order, are automatically put on the waiting list until payment has been confirmed by the appropriate Regional Centre. Please send cheques to the appropriate Regional Centre.

Spring Camps

Hockey Canada is pleased to announce registration for our Spring Hockey Skill and Athletic Development Programs . Dates for the program will be April 4th to June 12th. The program is designed to focus on hockey specific skill acquisition and development as well as improved overall athletic development.

This hybrid program will incorporate multiple sports to train young athletes who are interested in the sport of hockey. The program is built off of the Long Term Player Development Model with considerations for avoiding early specialization athletes in hockey, maximizing age appropriate training and improving physical skills.

In total each participant will get 16-20 skill development ice sessions, 16-20 off-ice athletic development sessions, 4-6 game sessions and 4 tournament games with the option of participating in another local tournament (added cost), and new for this year 1 multi-sport Olympic style tournament.

This program is available in Calgary, AB only at this point.

Summer Camps

Hockey Canada Advanced Summer Prep Camps

Hockey Canada, in partnership with Hockey Calgary and Hockey Alberta are pleased to offer a 1 week preparation camp for Atom and Pee Wee players. The camp will take place at the WINSPORT Athletic and Ice Complex, August 8th to August 12th, 2016. This camp is recommended for Atom (2006 & 2007) and Peewee players (2004 and 2005).

Hockey Canada’s week long summer prep camps will provide players with an opportunity to enhance their fundamental skills in a positive, safe, learning environment. The camp is designed to prepare players for their upcoming tryouts by providing fast tempo and high intensity drills that focus on core fundamental while also providing battle and competition drills. Participants will be expected to participate in dynamic warm-ups and cool down sessions along with a daily off-ice training session conducted by our personal trainers.

To register for this prep camp you must have played or will be playing in Division 1, 2, or 3 for the upcoming season.

Space is limited to the first 15 Forwards, 10 Defensemen and 3 Goalies in each age group.

The on-ice instructors have extensive experience in playing and coaching at Junior A, CIS/NCAA, International and Pro levels. Hockey Canada staff instructors to include Corey McNabb, Chris Bright, Paul Carson and Kevin Figsby. Instructors subject to change depending on individual schedules.
