CANADA 3 - NORWAY 2
GOLD MEDAL | SATURDAY, APRIL 5

Greg Westlake’s goal with just nine seconds on the clock was the gold medal clincher as Canada won its second world championship with a 3-2 win over Norway on Saturday night. Billy Bridges and Adam Dixon also scored for Canada, who finished an impressive 17-2 in 2007-08.

TUESDAY, APRIL 1

Graeme Murray got Canada rolling with a first-period goal, and Bradley Bowden and Todd Nicholson scored in the second period as Canada remained perfect at the world championship with a 3-1 win over Japan on Tuesday night. Paul Rosen made 10 saves in the win.

Canada’s big line was just that as Billy Bridges (3G, 2A), Greg Westlake (2G, 1A) and Bradley Bowden (3A) combined for 11 points to help the National Sledge Team to a convincing 11-0 win over Italy in the world championship opener on Saturday afternoon. » summary

 

CANADA IN PEI THIS WEEK TO TRAIN FOR UPCOMING 2008 IPC SLEDGE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Canada’s National Sledge Team will hold a pre-tournament camp in Charlottetown, PEI from March 22nd to 25th before departing for the 2008 IPC Sledge Hockey World Championship. The World Championship will run from March 29th through April 5th in Marlborough, Massachussetts. » more

CANADIAN ROSTER NAMED FOR IPC SLEDGE HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Hockey Canada announced on Friday its 15-player roster for the 2008 IPC Sledge Hockey World Championship, March 29th to April 5th in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Fourteen of the 15 players were on the ice in Torino, Italy for Canada’s gold medal at the 2006 Paralympic Winter Games.

CANADA OPENS SLEDGE WORLDS ON MARCH 29TH VS. ITALY

Canada’s National Sledge Team will open the 2008 IPC Sledge Hockey World Championship on March 29th, when they face Italy at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough, Massachusetts. The Canadians will also face Germany, Japan, Norway and the host Americans as they look to improve on their fourth-place finish from the 2004 Sledge Worlds in Örsköldsvik, Sweden.
