CANADA’S NATIONAL MEN’S SLEDGE HOCKEY ADVANCE TO GOLD MEDAL GAME
Arvada, Colorado – Canada’s National Men’s Sledge Hockey Team 6-0 win over Norway giving them an automatic berth to the gold medal game.
Team Canada was a team on a mission and proved too much for Norway. Canada will now play in the gold medal game tomorrow vs. tonight winner between USA and Norway .
During the first period of play Canada’s Billy Bridges scored his third of the event on a power play at 4:29 mark. Canada where able to gain a 2-0 lead less than three minutes to play with outstanding efforts from Booker, Dorion and Verner line with their hard forechecking and pure determination bringing the team bench into a frenzy.
Canada continued to press and frustrating the norwegian’s into penalty difficulty when at the 9:06 mark of the second period Booker was awarded a penalty shot when he was hooked from behind. Booker increased Canada’s lead by adding the 4th goal of the game past Norwegian goaltender Johansen.
As the third period rolled out Canada added two more goals. It was clear Norway could not match Team Canada’s game plan and best performance of the tourney.
Norway and USA will face each other tonight in order to decide who will play Canada in the final.
