Canada dominated the early years of Olympic hockey, winning gold at six of the first seven Games between 1920 and 1952. It has stood atop the podium at three of the last five Olympics – including ending a 50-year drought in 2002 and a home-ice victory in Vancouver in 2010 – and owns a record 16 Olympic hockey medals, nine of which are gold.
