Eric Gudbranson - Three Shot Quick Release

3 SHOT QUICK RELEASE

Drill Description:

  • Shooter stands in middle of the ice
  • Two passers on the left and right sides of the ice, one passer directly behind
  • First pass comes from left side, second pass comes from right side and third pass comes from behind
  • Shooter must cushion the first two passes and then use a quick wrist shot to get the puck on net
  • For the third pass that comes from behind, the shooter must time the stick motion to grab the puck and pull it through the shooting lane for a quick release

Key Teaching Points:

This is a great drill for working on pass reception and getting the puck on net quickly
