Jay McClement, of Kingston, ON closed out the scoring in the first as Canada skated to a 4-0 lead.

Canada stormed out of the gates in the second as Jared Aulin, Garth Murray and Stephen Weiss scored to give Canada a commanding 7-0 lead mid-way through the game. Mike Cammalleri added a powerplay goal before Montreal native Dave Henderson, France’s head coach, made a goaltender switch as Plumejeau gave way to Landry Macrez.
