TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – OTTAWA JR. 67’S
For each of the last four seasons the Jr. 67’s have reached the Central Regional, twice coming within just a single win of the TELUS Cup. After their regular season performance in the Ontario East Minor Hockey League, don’t be surprised if they make the short trip to Brockville, Ont., for this year’s regional in early April. Ottawa rolled to top spot in the OEMHL, finishing with an eight-game winning streak to sit 13 points up on second-place CIHA. The Jr. 67’s outscored the opposition by 76 goals, scoring the most goals (121) while allowing the least (a remarkable 45 in 28 games). Ryan Kuffner ran away with the OEMHL’s scoring title, racking up 63 points and ending the year with a comfortable 13-point advantage over second place, while netminder Simon Hofley was a perfect 19-0 – nine more wins than any other goaltender – with a league-leading 1.47.
