TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – METRO BOSTON PIZZA
After one year away Metro Boston Pizza – defending Atlantic Region champions – returned to the top of the NSFMHL, making it seven regular-season titles in the last eight years. But it needed help. Metro had only a single win in its last four games, and only a victory by East Hants over the Northern Selects in the regular-season finale stopped the Selects from pulling even with Metro atop the standings. The third-highest scoring team in the four-team NSFMHL, Metro relied more on its defence, allowing less than two goals per game. Brooke Bennett (1.67) and Kaelyn Budden (1.80) shared the goaltending duties, finishing second and third, respectively, with sub-2.00 goals-against averages, while Ellen Laurence was the offensive leader with 20 points; she had as many goals – 13 – as any other Metro skater had points.
