CALGARY, Alta. – Canada’s National Sledge Team will be in Rockland, Ont., just outside Ottawa, for a three-game series against the United States from Feb. 14-16 at the Canadian International Hockey Academy Athletics and Events Centre.

This marks Canada’s second international competition since taking a silver medal at the 2012 World Sledge Hockey Challenge in Calgary, Alta., in December, losing to the U.S. in the gold medal game. Canada took all three games in a series against Norway last month in La Baie, Que.

Forward Karl Ludwig (Brampton, Ont.), will be again be added to Canada’s roster for the series against the United States after playing against Norway in January.

“We’re excited to get back on the ice and build off the effort our team had in the series against Norway last month,” said Mike Mondin, head coach of Canada’s National Sledge Team. “We look forward to playing another high-quality opponent in the United States as we prepare for the world championship.”

Canada will hold a training camp in Toronto in March before heading to the 2013 IPC Sledge Hockey World Championship in Goyang, South Korea, from April 12-20, 2013.

Admission to the games is $5 and tickets are available for purchase at the door or in advance at the Sledge Hockey of Eastern Ontario ([email protected]) or at the Canadian International Hockey Academy.
