TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – BRAMPTON BATTALION
The Brampton Battalion won the race to the finish line in the SCTA, overtaking the Halton Hurricanes in the final week of the regular season to take top spot by just a single point. The Battalion were helped by a 12-game winning streak from Jan. 11 to Feb. 16, and just two losses in 16 games after the calendar turned to 2012. Not only was Brampton the SCTA’s top offensive side, scoring 163 goals in 36 games, an average of 4.53 per game, but the Battalion allowed just 91 goals, tied with Oakville for the league’s best mark. Brampton is hoping to avoid a repeat of last year’s playoff run, when the Battalion earned one of two SCTA berths at the OMHA championship before going winless.
