TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – HALIFAX TITANS
Returning nine players from the team that won the NSMMHL championship and Atlantic Region title last season, the Halifax Titans did something in 2011-12 they couldn’t do en route to the 2011 TELUS Cup – win the league’s regular season crown. The Titans finished with a seven-point cushion over Dartmouth atop the league standings, thanks to a season-closing run that saw Halifax lose just twice in regulation time over its last 26 games. Alex Hazlehurst, one of the nine returnees, led the way offensively with 49 points, good for third in the league, as the Titans racked up 138 goals, while Jacob Fancy’s 1.62 GAA led all NSMMHL goaltenders who appeared in at least five games.
