Hockey Newfoundland & Labrador Announces Specialty Clinics for Minor Hockey Players

St. John’s Minor Hockey and Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador, in partnership with Hockey Canada’s Atlantic Regional Centre, will hold several on-ice specialty clinics for minor hockey players at the Atom-Peewee level in the provincial capital during the 2011 TELUS Cup.

The clinics will take place on Friday, April 22, and will focus on skating, puck control/shooting and small area games at a cost of $20 per clinic.

The registration fee includes one hour of on-ice instruction (per clinic), and two tickets (per clinic) to the Friday afternoon game (4:30 p.m. NT) at the National Midget Championship between the St. John’s Privateers and the Quebec Region champions.

Space is limited to 30 players per clinic. All clinics will be held at the Twin Rinks arena on Anthony Avenue. On-ice sessions will be led by Hockey Canada staff members, with support from Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador instructors.

CLINIC SCHEDULE

Friday, April 22
9 a.m. - Skating Specialty Clinic
10:30 a.m. - Puck Control and Shooting Specialty Clinic
Noon - Small Area Games Specialty Clinic

Please note, if players sign up for more than one clinic the ticket deal will still apply (i.e. registering for two clinics means you receive four tickets.)
