TOP REGULAR SEASON TEAM – WINNIPEG THRASHERS
The Thrashers were the last team standing in the Battle of Winnipeg, taking the Manitoba Midget AAA Hockey League’s regular season crown by just a single point over their cross-town rivals, the Wild, thanks in large part to a season-ending 13-game winning streak. Winnipeg finished with the league’s second-best offence and defence (the Wild had a better goals for and goals against), although not one Thrasher finished in the top 10 of MMAAAHL scoring – Morgan Winchar’s 50 points were good for 11th.  The Thrashers know what it takes to get to the national championship – they won silver at the 2008 TELUS Cup before making the semifinals one year later as the tournament hosts.
